2016 Capacity Building Workshop to the Members & Non Members

The department responsible for capacity building has organized training’s in two regions namely Kunene and Otjozondjupa. The Training in Otjozondjupa attracted more participants from the Region compared to when the participants were combined with those from the Kunene Region, during the Training on HIV Management/Nutrition last year in Otjozondjupa. The Regional workshop on STIs, and Gender Based Violence was organized by NANASO in the Otjozondjupa Region. The training was developed and conducted by NANASO with the broad Objectives of enhancing participants’ Knowledge on “Gender Based Violence” and “STIs”.

The first workshop was held in Opuwo, Kunene region, Namibia, from 22 to 26 February 2016. The identification of participants was made possible by the CACOC volunteers of the six constituency of Kunene, which made it possible that we had a good representative from the entire five constituencies apart from the Khorixas Constituency where we had communication breakdown with the CACOC Volunteer. The transport and accommodation were arranged together with all other logistics for the workshop before the training week with the support of the NANASO finance department.

The second workshop was held in Otjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa region, Namibia, from 14 to 18 March 2016. The identification of participants was made possible by the CACOC volunteers, which made it possible that we had a good representative of Participants from all towns in the Region. The transport and accommodation were arranged together with all other logistics for the workshop before the training week with the support of the NANASO finance department.

The Methods used in the workshops were: short presentations; small group work; video show, short plays, quiz, and plenary discussions, to encourage active involvement by the Participants. Participants were asked to fill evaluation form at the end of the workshop.
